urinary leakage after surgery for it?

I was wondering if anyone has had this same problem before and is this normal. I just had surgery 5 days ago for urinary incontinence and was doing ok but am noticing some leakage again. i woke up this morning and noticed it more than yesterday. i am not moving around much so it is not with activity but more or less when i am just sitting still. It doesn’t happen after i cough or anything. I’ll just sit there and can feel it. I am still a little swollen and have a hard time getting it all out when i go to the bathroom. I’ll go to wipe and that slight pressure makes me go more. It is like the muscles aren’t fully working yet. I’m getting worried the surgery didn’t work. Do you think after the swelling goes down more the muscles will work better and I won’t leak anymore?

Hi – poor you, but it is far too early to want immediate 100% results with this kind of surgery.

When you go to the bathroom, rock backwards and forwards on the lavatory as you pee, even when you think you have finished.

It sounds very much as though your urethra is swollen. When you touch it as you wipe, this triggers a signal to release more urine trapped in your swollen and aggravated urethral outlet.

I think that you will be fine, given time and patience.

Good luck.
