Is it legal for a veterinarian to do this?
My dog has been in PROIN for 5 years. It is a drug that treats urinary incontinence. My vet has prescribed this to her and said she would have this the rest of his life. It works very well. Here is my problem. The vet charged me $ 30 for 20 tablets. Online pharmacies charge much less. So I asked the vet to fax my prescription to 1-800petmeds. When I faxed to only approved 20 pills and said no more. I think he is doing this because I will not buy drugs from him anymore. My vet charges me $ 90 for the supply of a month. You can obtain a three-month supply for $ 50 in 1800petmeds. Is it legal for more refills denied less than buying directly from him? If not I would like to report before finding a new vet.
Of course this is legal – your veterinarian (or veterinarian) may choose to write a lot of medicine but it considered necessary a lot! Your veterinarian is a good load for the Proin, but unfortunately your vet can charge whatever you like! There are no rules here! Have you asked your veterinarian if you could get a script more or you're jumping the gun? Report to your veterinarian will do nothing. It would be a waste of time taking your veterinarian has done nothing wrong. FYI 1-800-pet-medicine is the worst place to buy medicine, they certainly do not trust them! They are not even licensed! Not talk that often sell counterfeit drugs. Fear! My advice? I would find another vet.
