Treatment for cancer?
My family has bladder cancer. has spread outside the bladder. He is in a very weak, too weak for chemotherapy or surgery. Any suggestions on a possible treatment for bladder cancer that has already spread?
The three main treatments for bladder cancer are the elimination of tumors (not an inpatient surgery usually unless there are other medical problems), chemotherapy (Not the normal type. This is instilled through a catheter into the bladder) BCG or mitomycin C, or removal of the bladder. However, if it has spread (usually to bones, or prostate if male), the patient may benefit from palliative radiotherapy (no cure). This will make the patient feel better. This usually good results.
