Bladder Problems & Losing Feeling in My Legs.?
Lately I have been having bladder problems, I keep having the need to use the restroom, even when sometimes I don’t have to go. And sometimes I lose the control of holding my bladder. This started about 2 weeks ago.
Now this week I still have the same symptoms, but I’m start to lose feeling in my legs. By simply crossing my legs slighty they start to tingle and when I try to stand they feel heavy. It last for about 2 minutes and then goes away.
I’m a athlete, I play waterpolo as a goalie, I’m active. I drink water constantly. I’m 18. And I don’t know whats wrong. I’m going to student health tomorrow but I just want something to have a heads up on.
You may have lower back problems that you may not be aware of. I got myself checked out when I kept having pain, numbness and burning from my lower back to all the way down both legs. What really scared me was when I would try to walk and both legs would give out, and I would fall.
I had an MRI done on my spine and went to a neurosurgeon. I have herniation, bulges, and protrusions on L4-S1. (L= Lumbar – lower back. S= Sacral or Sacrum – tailbone) He did a series of tests in his office, and he asked me did I have any incontinence or bowel problems. I said no. The nerves in your lumbar spine controls the nerves in your lower body, including the bladder. I was told I will need surgery next month to try and fix these problems, since epidural cortisone injections gave me no relief.
In my honest opinion, you may have injured yourself playing sports without knowing it. My back problems crept up on me slowly out of nowhere and I don’t play sports. Hope this helps.
