How can I become more mentally tough to forget about the pain & injuries that are results of playing sports?
Now sports comes with consquences of playing them. I’m always concerned about the hits and injuries that come along with my 2 sports: basketball and football. The question is up there…and if you have any links or tips about clearing the mind to focus on the goal at hand, rather than being so timid about my health, that would be great.
I suggest that you concentrate almost entirely on the present moment as you are playing. There is much joy and emotional reward for playing all out every second that you are on the playing field.
You cannot really control the future anyway. Injuries may come, or they may not.
The mental process of becoming aware that these obsessive thoughts of possible future events will allow you to relegate this negativity to the background of your consciousness.
You can then play in the moment and with abandon.
