what is the best pain killer medicine?
What is the best pain medicine that is available in generic for back and shoulder pain?
Well, certainly there is a vast amount of different medications that are available out there for pain. I like Tylenol extra strength personally, never take more than 3000 grams a day. Doing so could damage your liver. 4000gr or 8 tabs 500mg each can be taken short term. Personally, i I like Soma(carisoprodol is generic) for muscle spasm or Flexeril(cyclobenzaprine is generic).
As far as prescription pain meds go, that would depend on whether or not you needed a strong pain reliever or a NSAID(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication like Advil, Motrin,Celebrex,Toradol,Mobic,Daypro,Relafan.
Narcotic pain relievers would be like Lortab(hydrocodone)OxyContin,Percocet,Darvocet,Darvon, or Ultram.
I think Percocet is a great pain reliever as well as Lortab. But they are narcotic and you can build up tolerance and develop physical and psychological dependence with long term usage. I would advise seeing your doctor and letting him make a determination about your physical condition and what mode of treatment is best for you. Good luck!
