How do I approach my doctor about weening myself off of pain medication?
I have been on Lortab Plus on and off for the past 4 years due to interstitial cystits pain. It is now seeming to control my life and I cannot seem to feel normal without it. I would appreciate any help from someone who has gone through the same thing and how to approach my doctor about weening myself off of my medication.
The other problem is that I ran out of my medication this weekend and am feeling absolutely horrible.
Be honest. Your Doc is the one who keeps giving you a repeat prescription, so they are aware of the underlying situation. Therefore see the Doc explain your fears and see what they say. It might be they can change the drug, reduce the amount, the list is endless. Best of Luck
