Bladder problems in cats?

My 10 yr old male, neutered cat has been acting rather strangely the past couple days. He has not been interested in his normal cat food so we have switched him over to canned food. He seems to have lost a bit of weight recently – however, he has been classified as obese as he was 19 lbs. Tonight, he was resting by the balcony door which I thought was odd. When I picked him up to carry him to bed, I found that he was soaking wet. Apparently he’d had a loss of bladder control as the liquid smelled like urine. I plan to take him to the vet in the morning, however, I am concerned what is causing this :( Any assistance will be appreciated!

Especially male cats have a tendency to forget to drink enough water, resulting in renal problems. Switching him to canned food coould solve the problem.

However he may have a more serious problem with his kidney/bladder, and you really need to take him to the vet!
