Anyone having alot of leg pain after lumbar laminectomy?
I had surgery on L4/L5 and been having alot of leg pain and numb on the other leg. It has only been all most 4 weeks since the surgery. I have to take pain pills around the clock.Is this normal?
I would suggest that you see the surgeon again and have a talk with he or she. There are many things that can go wrong with back surgery. Statistically the improvement rate or success rate is only fifty percent. You could have another herniation, scarring, or any number of other things that could attribute to this problem. Since he was the only one in there that is where the answers are going to have to come from. Another MRI could be done but often the results are not clear this soon after a procedure. Has the doctor put you into physical therapy? If not, now might be a good time to do so.
