Have you had success using an inversion table for lower back pain?
My chiropractor said I have every symptom for spinal stenosis (I don’t have insurance or money, so this is not possible to confirm via MRI). The chiropractor recommended spinal decompression, which is $130. I can buy an inversion table for less than that. Do inversion tables help with lower back pain and or spinal stenosis?
Do you recommend any exercises/stretches for lower back pain?
I’m 26, non smoker, average weight, eat healthy, etc… totally average. However, I have a large chest (which the chiropractor said could be contributing to my lower back pain, but isn’t the chief cause)
I have textbook blood pressure, 120/80 or less.
I think it might help because I often use the arm on my couch to stretch my lower back out by hooking my knees over the arm and relaxing my spine to let it dangle to the floor. It feels great. I’d do it all day except my legs start to go numb, ha ha!
OK- As a chiropractor I know that spinal decompression really works. However, not everyone needs it.
I would recommend that you call around to different chiropractors in your area and ask if they have an inversion table. Many of them do. If you can find one, then you could use the table to see if it will work for you before purchasing one.
In addition, it is very rare for a 26 year old to have spinal stenosis without something else occurring.
You may want to try a different chiropractor all together. Try finding one that specializes in a technique called SOT. This technique may be able to help you where your current chiropractor has not.
I really wish you the best
