What are the best incontinence products?
OK, this is a little embarrassing. I’ve had increasingly severe problems with incontinence for the last couple of years and I’ve been maxi pads recently. However, even the big ones leak. I’m embarrassed to go the store to buy the incontinence pads, but I know that they’re supposed to be better than maxi pads. Does anyone have any advice on which ones are best? I’d be mortified to have to ask the advice of the people in the store…
Thanks. Yes, I’ve been doing Kegels like crazy. I also spoke to my doctor about it and am waiting for an appointment to see a urologist. I’m just hoping to find something to use until then.
For the time being (thank heavens you’re seeing a urologist), I would recommend Poise pads… even the light ones are far superiour to maxi pads. I have pretty severe urine leakage (which, unfortunately, nothing can be done for)… 10 years ago I had to wear adult diapers during the day as well as at night, and now I can get away with Poise Ultimate Protection pads during the day (and they don’t leak, so that gives you an idea how well they work)… we’ve come a long way!
Keep up the kegels and good luck! Hopefully this will be dealt with and this will not be a way of life for you, but if it cannot be corrected, don’t let it embarrass you… I can guarantee the people working in the pharmacy see a lot of people making similar purchases – they don’t care.
