My husband had 3 herniated disks all in his L spine. His doctor didn’t recommend surgery at his age (25 at the time) but he did want him to try the lumbar epidurals. They normally set you up for a series of 3. Many people need to have all 3. My husband went in barely able to walk and came out dancing a jig and only took one epidural. He has had no other episodes and it has been 5 years. I would at least ask about them.
