herniated disc and sciatic pain?
I just need to add some hope there for my pain. I had minor back pain for years and suddenly a few months after raising a family member a couple of times and wear at work, my back has skyrocketed. I could not move an inch and put in bed for weeks. I've been to five different doctors and finally, ignoring my family doctor saying I'm young and I just have to trust my body and walk away … I discovered that I have four herniated disc. I did a week ago esi and I'm still very weak in my foot area and upper thigh. Does anyone know the way forward? therapy? another esi or because of my need to work straight across the back surgery. I need help I'm not old and I have a great job Im just i fear will never be able to physcially the things I do. Is there any possibility of hope that one day I wake up and this might be more manageable?
Well, a lot of great answers here! It's good to know you're not alone, huh. I know the type of pain you is that sometimes gives the win, especially for doctors who do not believe that back pain is realivant. I had my disc (L4/L5) hernia on my sciatic nerve after similar back pain as you described earlier. Because its early symptoms are similar to mine and I have heard from others, you should try to find out if you have disc degeneration. Do not let anyone tell you that age is a factor, since it is NOT true. Having said all that, I had a discectomy everyone was talking about to be so dangerous. I disagree. I was in excruciating pain and paralysis was 90 percent in his right leg because the sciatic nerve under pressure from the disc. After be flat on the back for 2 months, I had the surgery, he awoke in the recovery room and knew he was feeling better! That night I walked through the halls! Now the next couple of weeks, which is definitely not painless, but as my sciatic nerve started to repair itself, I have better and better. I was up and around and return to normal within 3 weeks. So, I guess it comes down to what is best for you ….. but you need to find out if you degenerasation before taking decisions because, of course, is chronic and disability if you want, now, you in the coming years. Good luck to you, I know the pain that is: (I hope to get some relief soon.
