Iatrogenic cause for foot drop after disc prolapse surgery–can the patient claim compensation?
This person underwent surgery for disc prolapse in 1980.Immediately after surgery he was found to have complete left foot drop and was advised by surgeon to wait for 18 months for recovery as it was [as per the surgeon] a neuropraxia and will recover.Till date there is no recovery.This person has lost the chance to join the armed services.Can he claim damages?
