Why was my daughter prescribed white chestnut drops?
After a visit to a chiropractor today my 20 month old daughter Lilia had ‘her emotions checked’. It had nothing to do with cracking her back etc but rather pressing down on her arm and running her hand over little vials. I’ve no idea what practice it is. Anyway I was told she needs white chestnut. Does anyone know what this signifies or if it can do any harm? Searches I’ve looked up on the net seem to indicate she has a ‘troubled mind’ but at only 20 months she is unable to say what she is thinking. How would the chiropractor know? Probably nothing to do with it, but I am due with my second child next week.
White Chestnut is one of the 38 Bach flower essences. The only notes I have on it for use is for “repetitive thoughts”, another book says for “constant worry”. Person may appear “distracted, agitated or inattentive”.
Maybe your almost two year old is picking up on any anxieties you are experiencing with the impending birth.
The flower essences cannot harm her at all. You don’t have to have her take them by mouth. Simply shake the bottle well and put drops on her forehead, wrists, arms, etc. Don’t hesitate to put some on yourself when you “treat” your child.
The Bach five-flower Rescue Remedy is a great thing to take along with you when you go into labor and deliver. Put several droppersful in a bottle of good water. Take it with you to the hospital and sip it regularly throughout your labor.
