Bladder reflux in babies?
My 2 month old had a scan of the bladder to determine yesterday who has a mild reflux in her kidneys. The doctor said he would be on antibiotics until it either disappears (could be years) or if it worsens enough to do the surgery. Does anyone has been through this and what you did? I feel so bad for her, she is too young to have kidney problems already.
My daughter has this, a level 2 in the kidney and a Level 3 on the other. She is on antibiotics every day until it grows out of it. The doctor told me I will not need surgery unless she receives a bladder infection while on antibiotics. He said most children with this growth out of it, but that surgery is quite common and nothing to worry about. The bladder reflux is very common, me and my husband work with people that children also have this. I know it's scary when diagnosed for the first time, but will be fine. Have to do to get a catheter is horrible hvbac test, which helps with mine is to give a bottle before being inserted the tube and wait for the liquid to fill their pipes / kidneys. Also, make sure when doing IC., That the tube is used for small pipes and small, the size of tube used to feed premature, I think they are in size …. 0.5? Pedi doesn't these, only have the larger more difficult, But kidney specialists should have them.
