Natural treatments for oral melanoma in dogs?
My cousin just called me to tell me that her 12-year-old Golden Retriever,Hannah,has been diagnosed with oral melanoma.The vet gives her about three months.I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this ,and if so,if you know of any natural treatments that may slow or stop the spread of the cancer.It is at the base of her throat. She has some arthritis,but is otherwise healthy. TY in advance.
Yes,I know that Goldens get cancer a lot.There is an experimental vaccine being tested at Ohio State,but it costs thousnads of dollars and is not proven.We were just hoping that someone might have tried something and had some success.
I am sorry about your cousin’s dog. There are not any natural ways that have be proven to stop the spread of this cancer. GR are the number 2 dog for getting cancer, boxers being the number 1. If your cousin is not getting any ideas from her vet, she can be referred to a veterinary oncologist. If the growth is inoperable, they may have a chemotherapy regime that may fit her lifestyle.
