Yes definitely. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis affecting all my joints. I have been on almost every drug there is to try and stop more damage being done to my physical self 
I have used a medication called Remicade a few times when I had Medicaid. It is VERY expensive. I receive a 700 mg infusion every 8 weeks. Cost is over $5,000 per infusion. I am now on Medicare only and the 20% of what Medicare will not pay is entirely out of my reach.
The Arthritis Foundation put me in touch with the Healthwell Foundation (http://www.healthwellfoundation.org/index.aspx) that sponsors patients who are in need of this drug and others. I am finally now once again receiving Remicade. I can only say thank God, the Arthritis Foundation and Healthwell. Now instead of being unable to move and having to depend on others I can now get out of bed, do a few household chores and walk more than a few steps. I am only 52 and have a lot of things left to do with my life.
