HAS ANYONE USED SUBOXONE FOR PAIN MANAGMENT WHEN UNABLE TO USE OTHER NARCOTICS DUE TO ABUSE..?
LOOKING FOR A DRUG TO USE FOR PAIN OTHER THAN VICODIN, OXYCONTIN ETC….IM A RECOVERING ADDICT AND AM SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING TO ASK MY DOC ABOUT FOR PAIN RELIEF..I HAVE BEEN ON VICODIN (HYDROCODONE) FOR 3 YEARS AND CANNOT!!!! TAKE IT ANYMORE…SUBOXONE HELPED ME GET THRU CRAVINGS AND WITHDRAWAL AND I KNOW IT IS EITHER USED FOR PAIN MANAGMENT OR DETOX BUT HOW ABOUT BOTH??? MY DOCTOR IS A NEUROLOGIST WHO IS TREATING ME FOR FIBROMYALGIA AND ARTHRITIS AND I TOLD HIM MYSELF THAT I HAD BECOME ADDICTED SO WE ARE WORKING ON FINDING AN ALTERNATIVE. ANY SUGGESTIONS???? I ONLY!!! EVER ABUSED THE VICODIN..I HAVE NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER IN ANY OTHER DRUG FOR ABUSE “JUST” PAIN RELIEF…I CANNOT WORK LIKE THIS AND BARELY EXIST WITHOUT HELP FROM SOMETHING AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IM GOING TO DO NOW. I JUST KNOW I COULDNT CONTINUE WITH THE HYDROS. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER IN MY BRAIN BUT MY BODY FEELS LIKE CRAP, ITS AWFUL!!! PLEASE HELP….
I have been sick for about 3 years with fibro like symptoms. I am being tested soon for MS as my neurologist, primary care doctor, pain mgmt. doctor and the rheumytologist all say that it is not fibro. I have taken so many different meds and they either make my symptoms worse, I have severe allergic reactions to them,or the few that worked I had such horrible side affects I had to stop taking them. I finally found relief with Tramadol (Ultram) I take 2 50mg tablets 4 times a day. If I didn’t have this medication I wouldn’t be able to even walk I am in so much pain and the pain makes my legs so week that they can’t support me. I have been offered to try Oxy Contin and Methadone. I refused to even try them. The Tramadol is a non narcotic derivative of Morphine but it is very mild. Like I said I take 8 a day and I can’t even tell I am taking anything except for the fact that my pain is lessened, It does not control all of my pain but it eases it enough that I have been able to go back to work part time, Also, my doctor told me that Amitryptoline is used to treat Fibro a lot, as is Lyrica. I took Lyrica and it worked but the side affect from that for me was blurry eyes to the point of partial blindness. We tried lower doses but it didn’t work for the pain at all. Also Cymbalta is for nerve pain as well. I have a very sensitive system and can’t take most of the newer meds but if I were you I’d talk to my doctor about trying these. Good luck and I hope you find relief soon. I know how very frustrating it can be. Hang in there and remember, you are your biggest advocate, keep pushing until you get the help and relief you need to live a normal of a life as possible! xoxo
